Who We Are - Our Commitment to Privacy

The Work Institute® is a Human Capital Intelligence and Audit Company dedicated to providing the feedback and data necessary for our clients to become better employers, reduce human capital costs, and manage compliance. That being said, the privacy of our clients and the personal information of their potential, current and former employees is of utmost importance. To better protect this privacy we are providing this notice detailing our research practices and the way client information is collected and used.

Information We Collect

Personal information, including name and telephone number, is obtained from companies for the sole purpose of administering attraction, incumbent, and terminate interviews. This information is only accessible to Work Institute professionals and will not be shared with third parties other than for the expressed research purposes. Other personal information, including but not limited to birth date, geography and gender, may be provided in order to provide client organizations with detailed analysis of survey findings.

Encryption software is used to protect personal information when being transmitted within The Work Institute and to client organizations.

Other personal information collected by The Work Institute includes personal information voluntarily submitted by visitors to our website, including name, phone number, and email address. This information is kept confidential and will only be used as a means of initiating contact with those requesting additional information about our services. The Work Institute will never barter, trade, or sell access to our database of contacts.

The Work Institute also collects information pertaining to the use of its Web site, including that which is related to site traffic volume and patterns, identifying website users by their IP address. Only Work Institute professionals can access this information, and it is used for administrative and marketing evaluation purposes.

Our Commitment to Individuals

As a workplace and workforce research organization, The Work Institute is committed to protecting the personal information of potential, current and former employees of our client organizations. Survey participation is voluntary unless otherwise stated when requesting participation. Information collected from respondents is reported back to our clients through our proprietary Human Asset Vulnerability Analysis (HAVA) technology, password protected, and only accessible via a secure VeriSign login. Client organizations manage which members of their staff have access to what data. All survey findings are reported to clients in a confidential manner unless otherwise stated during the data collection process. Personally identifying information will not be disclosed to outside parties unless required by federal, state, local or other government regulations. In such a case, The Work Institute will use reasonable effort to disclose only information required under applicable law.

To better ensure the quality and integrity of the research services provided to our clients, it is important to provide accurate demographic information. When requested, reasonable effort will be made to allow individuals to view and correct information disclosed during the course of their interview. Should a survey respondent wish to view the information provided, they may do so by contacting privacy@workinstitute.com. Personal information will not be disclosed or sold to outside organizations nor used for the means of commercial solicitation.

Our Commitment to Client Organizations

Information specific to any organization will not be transferred to third parties without written permission from the sponsoring organization. For research purposes, information specific to participating organizations may be aggregated with those other participating organizations in order to create an aggregate data base. No personally identifiable information or organizational identifications will be included. The database may be used to develop normative information, conduct validation studies, and other similar activities to improve the product(s) for future use.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To maintain and protect information from unauthorized access, The Work Institute has procedural, physical and electronic safeguards.

Safe Harbor

We adhere to the US Department of Commerce Safe Harbor guidelines for the safeguarding of privacy in the transmission of personal, human resource information between the United States and member countries of the European Union. Our certification can be verified by visiting this site and reviewing the list of Safe Harbor compliant organizations. We agree to cooperate and comply with the EU Data Protection Authorities for the purpose of handling unresolved complaints.

Notification of Changes

Should any change occur to our privacy policy, those changes will be posted on our website.
